My First Experience With Politics Essay - 2323 Words

My first experience with politics was during the 2008 Presidential election. At that time I felt very strongly for Mitt Romney and was deeply saddened by his defeat. Because of this loss, I vowed to take the powers vested in me by the Constitution to make sure the US does not elect Obama, making the same mistake. He is a mistake because I consider him a failure. He has decreased the value of life for many citizens and ruined America’s healthcare system. I have become educated about current events as well as followed the political campaigns, to which I hope will be evident in the next section. Being an informed voter, I would like to talk about the issues facing our nation as well as offer a comparison of the current candidates for President, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I will also outline the issues facing the United States which I find important and give a brief comparison between the candidates and who I agree with. My opinion of the political issues facing the United States as proposed by the candidates Police Reform Police Reform should be one of the many issues handled in the first one-hundred days of our new President’s term. The unrest and corruption are actions that do not belong in our police force. The criminal justice system needs revised. A contract, simply and popularly defined, is an agreement voluntarily entered into by two or more parties who have the intention to create legal relations. It can be said that one of the fundamental aims of the law of contract is to provide a fair framework within which the parties are free to contract. Lord Steyn has, extra-judicially, raised this point: â€Å"A thread runs through our contract law that effect must be given to the reasonable expectations of honest men†¦ Although the hypothetical reasonable man pursues his own commercial self-interest he is by definition not dishonest. The proposition can therefore be re-defined simply to say that the law must respect the reasonable expectations of the contracting parties†. As contracts are characterised by having legal consequences, the law of contract seeks to find a way of interpreting the actions and utterances of the parties in such circumstances. This job provokes us to mistrust the people and be ready for the worst. I have to follow so much rules and regulations in this life that I feel like a robot. I am so trained that I cannot mix and talk freely with the civilians. Yes, if you want job security and stability you can have it in army. It is a fact that now a days, in civilian jobs; people are sacked from the jobs on petty issues and small mistakes. In army we enjoy the stability of the job, as government stands guarantee, and we don’t fear that we might be kicked out on trifles. No doubt we, the soldiers, are made strong physically and mentally. I can dare to challenge anything in life because I am a soldier. We feel proud that we can be part of history by serving in operations. Take my example; I am a part of the history as serving in the operations against the Iraqi freedom AOR. My job made me eligible for many benefits such as low or zero markups on many different kinds of loans, many discounts and very attractive insurance policies. I get many traveling, dining and hoteling benefits. I enjoy many holidays here. My health is well taken care of for being army personnel. It is not just that they send you out in the field to die a dog’s death. They care you very well in the field as well as out of the field. No doubt army serves you well but disturbs you as well.
